Chelsea fans say the same thing about Wesley Fofana after journalist’s update
Chelsea fans were in unison in their reaction to a fresh update on Wesley Fofana’s future amid ongoing uncertainty around his role at the club.
Chelsea are currently preparing to take on Swedish side Djurgarden in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, as they continue their push for European silverware.
However, one player who remains unavailable is Fofana, who has been sidelined following surgery after a hamstring injury.
Since making the switch from Leicester in a deal worth up to £75 million, the French defender’s time at Stamford Bridge has been blighted by persistent injury setbacks.
Chelsea supporters have grown frustrated with Fofana, who have questioned whether the 24-year-old can still play a long-term role in the squad.
Now, a recent update on his future at the club has triggered a wave of fan reaction, with many appearing in agreement that patience is wearing thin.

Chelsea considering Wesley Fofana sale as Marseille show interest
According to French journalist Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Fofana “could leave Chelsea” this summer, with the club reportedly “open” to either a transfer or a loan deal.
Aouna added that Marseille are one of the clubs monitoring his situation, and the French defender is said to be “interested” in a move back to Ligue 1.
Fofana has previously been labelled by some supporters as Chelsea’s “worst ever signing” due to his persistent injury issues and limited impact since his move from Leicester.
Many fans have called for the club to sell him, and it now appears that Chelsea may be prepared to listen to offers.
The club are already considering strengthening their backline, with Football Insider revealing that Chelsea have joined the race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
Bringing in another centre-back could pave the way for Fofana’s departure, especially with the club already boasting depth in that position through Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah.

Chelsea fans lose patience with Wesley Fofana amid injury setback
Despite making a brief return in March following a hamstring injury, Fofana was ruled out again in April, taking his total absences this season to 34 matches.
Since joining the club in 2022, he has made just 34 appearances in all competitions — a figure that continues to frustrate the fanbase.
Following the latest reports, one supporter wrote: “Sell him immediately” while another added: “How about we just sell him for free?”
