Chelsea supporters are urging the club to make a move for Morgan Rogers following a fresh update on his future.

His consistent performances have drawn attention from several top clubs, with Football Insider revealing that Manchester City are interested in Rogers in a move to re-sign their former academy talent.

The 22-year-old left City in search of regular first-team football, joining Middlesbrough before making the step up to the Premier League with Villa. Now, with his stock rising quickly, interest in the forward is growing.

While a return to Manchester has been discussed, a recent update from a journalist suggests a move to West London could be on the cards instead — sparking excitement among Chelsea fans.

Miguel Delaney, chief football writer for The Independent, reported on 29 April that Chelsea are targeting Aston Villa forward Rogers as part of their plans to strengthen their attack this summer.

However, he added that Villa are reluctant to part ways with the youngster and view him as a key figure for the future.

Despite this, Delaney noted that profit and sustainability rules (PSR) may “force clubs into a transfer churn” meaning Villa could be pushed into making a big sale to balance their finances.

Football Insider also revealed that Aston Villa remain confident of keeping hold of Rogers, even in the face of interest from Manchester City, his former club.

The Englishman has enjoyed a breakout campaign, notching 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. With his contract running until 2030, Villa are in a strong position – unless PSR complications force an uncomfortable decision.
