Chelsea icon Thiago Silva sends message to sensation Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea icon Thiago Silva took to social media to send a message to youngster Carney Chukwuemeka after making his Borussia Dortmuch debut.
The 21-year-old came off the bench to replace winger Karim Adeyemi for the last few minutes of Dortmud’s 3-0 Champions League win over Sporting on Tuesday (February 11).
Chukwuemeka has been unwanted at Chelsea since Enzo Maresca took over in the summer, and was a member of their infamous ‘bomb squad’ alongside Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling.
The midfielder finally completed a loan move on the January transfer window’s last day, rejecting offers from Everton and West Ham, in favour of a move to Dortmund.
Chukwuemeka didn’t make a single start for the West London club over the first half of the season and failed to provide a goal contribution in his 130 minutes of action.
