Chelsea make decision on accepting Reece James offer after ‘huge’ reveal – sources
Chelsea are not set to consider any offers for club captain Reece James this summer despite recent reports, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been suggested that the Blues are considering parting with James, 24, in the upcoming summer window in an attempt to balance the books at Stamford Bridge amid widespread links with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
And Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (2 April) that Chelsea chiefs would expect a “huge fan backlash” against the Todd Boehly regime if the right-back was sold.
While any sale would represent pure profit and help the Stamford Bridge club meet their Financial Fair Play obligations, it is believed they will not consider parting with him this summer.
Chelsea set to refuse James offer – defender is ‘happy’ at Stamford Bridge
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that James is “happy” at Chelsea – and it would be a “major surprise” if he were to depart.
The 16-cap England international has struggled to remain fit in the 2023-24 campaign.
He has managed just six starts in nine total appearances for the Blues this term due to a string of injury problems.

While James is not set to be sold, three home-grown stars are likely to be sacrificed by Chelsea this summer in a bid to meet FFP obligations.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (2 April) that Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah are set to depart.
