On Sunday (2 April), sources told this site that former boss Thomas Tuchel is pushing Bayern Munich to sign the midfielder this summer.

On Monday (3 April), Football Insider revealed that the London club are set to hold talks with Kovacic over a new contract amid concerns over losing him for free next year.

Clubs are Europe including Bayern, Man City and Man United are all monitoring the situation.

McAvennie urged Chelsea to tie Kovacic down as soon as possible.

It does not matter how long you give someone a new contract, it just means you are going to get more money for them if somebody makes a bid,” he told Football Insider.

You are in the prime position there.

Money talks, unfortunately everybody is for sale. Every player at a club has a price and if that gets matched then they will be off.
