Chelsea ‘not done’ in January after source’s £100m signing reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Chelsea are “not done” with new signings just yet.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said it doesn’t look like the Blues have a clear plan in place when it comes to recent signings.

On 15 January, Football Insider revealed that the London club are ready to spend more than £100million on three more box-office signings this month.

Graham Potter’s side finalised the capture of Mykhailo Mudryk on Sunday (15 January) in a deal worth £88million.

Chelsea are continuing their pursuit of new players this month despite already securing several deals this month, including Joao Felix on loan, Benoit Badiashile, David Fofana and Andrey Santos.

When asked for his assessment of Chelsea’s transfer window so far, Hutton told Football Insider:You do not really hear much, you hear Arsenal are going for a couple of players and then Chelsea are in for them.

I understand that they have got a lot of injury problems at the moment, form has not been ideal, they are not in a position in the league that they want to be in.

So I understand why they want to bring people in.

There is no rhyme or reason to who they are going for. You would like to think they have got a plan, it would be silly just to throw money away.

At this moment in time it does not seem that way. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the transfer window plays out. They are not scared of flashing the cash so I do not think they are done yet.
