Chelsea player ratings v West Ham: Midfielder struggles
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Football Insider rates the Chelsea players out of 10 after their 2-1 win against West Ham at the London Stadium on Monday evening.
Thibaut Courtois 6 – Had very little to do across the 90. A spectator throughout.
Victor Moses 7 – The Nigeria international continues to impress as he showcased his attacking and defensive capabilities across the 90 minutes.
Cesar Azpilicueta 6 – Helped form the impressive back line, was always first to any loose ball.
David Luiz 7 – Dealt with the threat of Andy Carroll well, winning the majority of the aerial duels.
Gary Cahill 7 – Bossed the West Ham attack. Made a number of crucial interceptions to help his side pick up the three points.
Marcos Alonso 6 – Made some good attacking runs, but his final ball often let him down.
N’Golo Kante 7 – The much hailed defensive midfielder was key once again as he won the ball in his own half in the build-up to Chelsea’s opening goal.
Cesc Fabregas 4 – Struggled to impose himself fully on the match. Booked in the first half, setting the midfielder on a tightrope in the centre of the park for the majority of the match.
Pedro 7 – Played a brilliant one two with Hazard for the first goal. A constant threat to Aaron Cresswell down the right hand side.
Diego Costa 7 – Had a quiet first half, but like always he popped up when it mattered to double the scoreline for his side.
Eden Hazard 8 – Showed great pace and skill which allowed him to apply the cool finish for his team’s opener.
SUBS:
