Chelsea player ratings v Wolves: Defensive duo are 4/10

COMMENT By Harvey Byrne

Football Insider rates the Chelsea players during their 2-0 win against Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Asmir Begovic 6 – Was rarely tested during the match, but did a solid job between the sticks when necessary.

Victor Moses 6 – Made some good runs up the pitch, but his final ball so often let him down when in the final third.

Kurt Zouma 4 – Poor in the back line. The Wolves forwards often got the better of him and he was saved by the woodwork in only the opening moments.

John Terry 4 – The defender’s best days are well past him and he struggled to cope with the pace of the Wolves attackers across the match.

Nathan Ake 6 – The youngster did his job well in the back line without pulling up too many trees.

Pedro Rodriguez 7 – He was less than assured when needing to defend, but popped up at the right moment to provide the opening goal for his side.

Nathaniel Chalobah 5 – The match seemed to pass the 22-year-old by in the centre of the park. Struggled to impose himself on the match.

Cesc Fabregas 7 – Worked well for his side in the midfield. Made some important challenges in defence, while also playing some neat balls going forward.

Willian 7 – Looked to cause problems to the Wolves defence and delivered a very impressive ball to assist Pedro for the goal.

Diego Costa 7 – Struggled to get any joy against a very solid Wolves defence for large parts of the game, but was in the right place to put the game to bed in the last few minutes.

Eden Hazard 5 – Uncharacteristically quiet on Saturday evening. Struggled to work anything against a Championship team who were well up for the occasion.

SUBS:

Cesar Azpilicueta (For Pedro 73 minutes) – 6

N’Golo Kante (For William 81 minutes) – 6

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (For Hazard 86 minutes) – 6
