Chelsea prepared to accept offer for ‘fantastic’ player in January
Chelsea have endured a mixed start to the season so far and are looking to kick on and push up the table following the international break.
Their Premier League form can be summed up by a frustrating 2-1 defeat to Man United and 3-1 defeat to Brighton which was soon followed by a 2-1 win against Liverpool.
Enzo Maresca is aiming to establish more consistency in his side to match the ambitions of mounting a challenge for the title against the likes of Arsenal and Man City.
As a result, reparations are already being put in place for the January window, with both incoming and outgoing deals already on their radar at Stamford Bridge.
While Chelsea are planning to improve their squad, there is also an acceptance that players will have to move on to make room and raise funds for reinvestment.

Chelsea plan to accept offers for Tyrique George
Football Insider revealed on 8 October that Chelsea will green-light Tyrique George’s sale in January with interest in his signature already growing.
Now, Maresca sees the winger as a sellable asset given the Blues’ depth out wide, with options including Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the Blues are planning to entertain offers for the 19-year-old.
“There was a lot of interest in George during the summer,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s featured quite regularly for Chelsea over the last couple of years, but I’m not sure the manager is completely convinced by him.
“If he wants to be starting games regularly, he has to prove to the manager that he’s capable of doing that, and I don’t think he’s done that for Chelsea this season.
“Especially when you consider the other wide players they’ve got in the squad, they have to decide which ones they want to be part of the squad long-term.

“I think if an offer comes in during the January transfer window, they’ll be prepared to let him go because they’ve got plenty of cover out wide already.
“Those clubs who wanted him during the summer, I don’t see any reason why that interest would have faded, so they will be prepared to reignite that interest.”
Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, George has impressed his teammates as well as rival clubs, as Noni Madueke labelled him “fantastic”. [Sky Sports]
George came close to leaving Chelsea in the summer
George nearly joined Fulham on deadline day and has been the subject of strong interest from Champions League clubs as well as those in the Premier League.
Roma also made a move for the winger during the summer but were unable to reach an agreement to bring him to Serie A despite holding talks.
However, there is a growing feeling that both interested clubs could reignite their moves in January, while new contenders are likely to join the race.

George has been slammed for his Chelsea displays this season, with fans now calling for him to up his game amid the ongoing transfer speculation.
With Maresca set to make a decision about which players will be long-term assets to his plans, there is a growing feeling George could be one to make way.
