Chelsea reveal shock new ticket prices for Palmeiras showdown

Chelsea’s Club World Cup quarter-final with Palmeiras has been subject to stunning ticket prices for match going supporters.

The Blues are set to face the Brazilian club at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Chelsea’s quarter-final victory over Benfica was hit by extreme weather in a match that lasted over four hours.

Brazilian side Fluminense or Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal, who knocked out Manchester City, will await in the semi-finals for the winners.

Prices slashed for quarter-final clash

Taking to X, The Athletic’s Adam Crafton revealed prices were as low as £8.17 for supporters wanting to attend the Chelsea against Palmeiras clash.

Crafton reported that prices has been reduced for all quarter-final games after fans had previously paid thousands for group stage fixtures.

Due to pricing, attendances have been low at some games at the tournament.

Only 22,000 spectators turned out to watch Chelsea’s 2-0 win against LAFC in the group stage.

Ticket prices and attendances have been just one of the controversies FIFA has had to face during the Club World Cup.

Initial high prices failed to attract fans, even to matches including some of the world’s biggest club’s like Real Madrid and PSG.

FIFA is trying to ensure the final matches of the tournament draw a large crowd to change public perception, but the damage may have already been done.

The weather has also been a major issue and highlighted extensively ahead of next summer’s World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
