Chelsea set Cesare Casadei asking price as deal edges closer – sources

Chelsea are demanding a fee of £20million for Torino midfield target Cesare Casadei, sources have told Football Insider.

The Serie A side are big admirers of the 21-year-old and are keen to bring him to Turin this month.

Casadei is well down the pecking order at Chelsea and they are open to selling him on a permanent basis before the 3 February deadline.

The Blues are demanding £20million for the central midfielder, but Torino cannot afford to part with that kind of figure in the mid-season window.

Negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs with Chelsea also keen to include a buy-back clause in any potential agreement.

It is believed the Blues will not let the Italy Under-21 international leave Stamford Bridge for a knockdown price.

Casadei has played six times in the Uefa Conference League and League Cup so far in the 2024-25 campaign.

He has made the bench in the Premier League on four occasions this term but has not been called into action by Enzo Maresca.

The 21-year-old spent the first half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan with Leicester before being recalled 12 months ago.

Casadei joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in August 2022 for a reported initial fee of £12.6million plus £4.2million in add-ons.
