Medical expert names Chalobah comeback date after ‘painful’ Chelsea development
Trevor Chalobah should return from his “painful” knock in time to feature for Chelsea against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Chalobah needed treatment in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw against Wolves last Sunday (19 December) and was forced to withdraw at half-time.

Per the Daily Mail later that day, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel called the centre-back’s injury “very painful” and revealed he would be sent for “further examination”.
Chalobah also missed three games with a hamstring twinge at the start of December.
Dinnery predicted that tonight’s (21 December) League Cup quarter-final against Brentford will come too soon for the 22-year-old.
“We’re hoping this is just a knock,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“He was a player who was used when ideally Thomas Tuchel wouldn’t have wanted that. He was coming off the back of a hamstring problem.
“This one looks to be an impact injury. In terms of the gravity of the situation, you’d rather have something like that than a soft tissue issue or muscle tear.
“It’s painful, which can limit you at the time. But with a little bit of treatment and rest, we’ll see him back on the training pitches ready for game week 19.“

Chalobah is enjoying his breakthrough season at Chelsea.
He has scored three times in 16 appearances so far this term.
