Medical expert suggests how many games Silva will miss after Chelsea ‘talks’
Chelsea superstar Thiago Silva will likely have missed three matches by the time he returns from injury.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Silva was forced off shortly after half-time during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa last Sunday (26 December).

Per football.london the following day, Thomas Tuchel said the 37-year-old was taken off as a precautionary measure after a “hamstring” complaint.
The centre-back was absent for the Blues’ 1-1 draw against Brighton last night (29 December).
Dinnery predicts that with a “seven to 10-day” absence, the Brazilian could miss Liverpool on Sunday (2 January) and the League Cup semi-final against Tottenham next Wednesday (5 January).
“He came off in the second half so it could have been following talks at half-time,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“There might have been a niggle there, maybe a bit of tightness. He is a seasoned professional who has played at the highest level.
“He knows his body inside and out, when to push and when to maybe take a step back. He didn’t look in massive amounts of discomfort.
“He’ll be confident and hopeful that he made the right call before anything too serious occurred.
“Given the tight turnaround and the options that Tuchel has, even if he felt okay, you’d suggest resting him for the next game.
“You’re looking around that seven to 10-day period. But he isn’t someone who has to go out and force himself to impress anybody.”

Silva has registered two goals and two assists in 21 appearances this season.
His contract expires at the end of the campaign.
