Chelsea star who Liverpool wanted to sign can haunt Arne Slot after confirmed news
Chelsea and Liverpool are both vying to get back to winning ways after losing to Brighton and Crystal Palace, respectively, last time out.
Chelsea may be concerned that Alexander Isak loves scoring against them ahead of their clash with the Reds on Saturday, 4 October.
The Blues head into their fixture at Stamford Bridge after successfully beating Jose Mourinho’s Benfica in the Champions League.
Contrastingly, Liverpool lost 1-0 to Galatasaray in Europe, and have now endured two successive defeats across all competitions.

Enzo Maresca reveals Romeo Lavia is fit to start vs Liverpool
Romeo Lavia recently returned to Chelsea training after previously suffering an injury setback, and made his first appearance of the season as a substitute against Brighton.
The 21-year-old was then named as an unused substitute when the Blues defeated Benfica, thanks to Richard Rios’ own goal on Tuesday, 30 September.
Speaking to the press about the midfielder’s fitness on Friday, 3 October, Enzo Maresca revealed: “Romeo is ready to play. With Romeo, we are trying to do exactly the same that we have done with Wes (Fofana) and with Reece (James).
“Now we are in a much better position for both of them. Unfortunately, at this moment, Wes is out, but not for any physical problem. It’s just for the concussion against Lincoln.
“The target with Romeo is that we can help him and we can bring him in the same condition as Wes and Reece, where they can play games. As you can see now, Reece is playing more games without problems. Hopefully, we can do the same with Romeo.”
Liverpool tried to sign Romeo Lavia before he joined Chelsea
Since joining Chelsea from Southampton in 2023, Lavia has suffered a series of injuries, meaning that he has made just 24 appearances across all competitions in over two seasons with Maresca’s men.
As reported by BBC Sport in the summer of 2023, Liverpool wanted to sign the former Manchester City man before he joined Chelsea.
Arne Slot’s side may be relieved that they did not sign the Belgium international, who is frequently sidelined through injury.
However, thanks to Maresca’ latest reveal, the 21-year-old now has the chance to haunt Liverpool after the Reds failed to acquire him.
If Chelsea beat the Anfield club, it would come as a major dent to Slot’s chances of winning two consecutive Premier League titles, especially if Arsenal beat West Ham United.
