Chelsea tipped to accept ‘take it or leave it’ Romelu Lukaku offer after latest snub – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Chelsea will be forced to accept a “take it or leave it” offer from Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Blues have been backed into a corner after the Belgium international snubbed offers from Saudi Arabia.

Football Insider revealed last month (14 June) that Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea this summer after spending last season on loan at Inter.

It has been widely claimed that the 30-year-old has rejected a Saudi Arabia move and instead wants to return to San Siro for the 2023-24 campaign.

The striker’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2026 after he arrived from the Serie A side for a reported fee of £97.5million in 2021.

He managed just 15 goals in 44 appearances and was not a regular starter under then-boss Thomas Tuchel.

“Negotiations could be tricky between Chelsea and Inter for Lukaku,” He told Football Insider.

“Inter Milan knows they want to offload Lukaku, so they will not need to offer what the Blues are demanding.

“Both parties will offer their best deal and Inter could say either take or leave it, with Chelsea not wanting to be stuck with a player who won’t be used.

“When it gets closer to August and a deal still hasn’t been accepted, they are going to have to eventually accept Inter’s offer.”
