Chelsea told to axe Timo Werner and two teammates as £47.5m deal agreed – pundit
Chelsea need to axe Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic this summer and sign more attacking players, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict as Chelsea edge closer to completing the signing of Raheem Sterling.
The Athletic reported at the weekend (9 July) that the Blues have agreed a £47.5million with Man City for the 27-year-old with personal terms also agreed.

One target they look set to miss out on is Raphinha of Leeds United who looks likely to join Barcelona.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday (12 July) that Leeds had accepted a bid from Barca for Raphinha that could be worth up to €67million (£56.5million).
Asked whether just signing Sterling will be sufficient for Thomas Tuchel, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Chelsea definitely need more options.
“Ziyech and Pulisic are not good enough. Werner, with his last season, you need to get rid of all three of them.
“Sterling is a great signing. They’ve got Havertz, but you need someone else on that right-hand side and maybe another striker.
“Chelsea have got a lot of business to do, they are nowhere near it.
“If they stay with this squad now, Spurs will finish above Chelsea, they’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Werner, 26, scored 11 times and provided six assists in 37 games across all competitions for Chelsea in the 2021-22 campaign.
He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2026.
