Chelsea told to pull plug on Romelu Lukaku swap deal after new twist

Chelsea should be wary of completing a swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that the Blues must look elsewhere in their hunt for a striker.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Vlahovic by Juventus, as long as they get Lukaku in return.

The last player to score 20 league goals for Chelsea was Diego Costa – who managed the feat in the 2016-17 season.

The signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not had a positive effect on the Blues – and the former Arsenal striker is set to be bombed out of the club less than 12 months after signing.

With Vlahovic potential being the next striker to sign Agbonlahor believes that is a deal the Blues should look to avoid.

“I don’t see Vlahovic joining,” he told Football Insider.

“I feel that if you struggle in the champions League and if you struggle in Serie A, you’re definitely going to struggle in the Premier League.

“The Premier League is the toughest league in the world.

“And if you’re struggling at Juventus, you know, you’re not going to make it in the Premier League for me, it’s going to be very difficult, as the defenders are only getting better and better.

“I know for a fact there’s no easy games in the Premier League, you’re not going to be guaranteed goals like the Serie A.

“So, I wouldn’t get him.

“I feel that Chelsea should be at the level, where they think do we want a player who Juventus don’t want, is that where Chelsea are at? Chelsea are different level.

“They should be going and taking players like Moises Caicedo and maybe strikers other clubs still want.”
