Revealed: Two more Chelsea home-grown stars told to go for ‘big money’ after Lewis Hall deal agreed

Two more home-grown Chelsea stars are likely to follow Lewis Hall in leaving the club in big-money moves this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The London giants have agreed a deal to sell the 18-year-old to Newcastle United for an initial fee of around £28 million just weeks after the club offered him a new six-year contract.

In an astonishing turnaround, Hall is headed to the north-east days after Chelsea told him they were set to loan him to a Premier League club this season for his development.

The teenager is not expected the last of the home-grown talents to head out of Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

With Hall joining another Cobham graduate Mason Mount through the exit door, it is now expected they will be joined by Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah in leaving.

Both Gallagher and Chalobah have been told they are free to find new clubs if Chelsea’s asking price is met, with agents now working to secure late-window moves for the pair.

Chelsea need to increase transfer income as they seek to ensure they are compliant with spending rules.

Under the new Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital led consortium the club have spent more than £900 million in fees and broken the British transfer record in each of the previous windows.

Gallagher started Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Liverpool last Sunday in central midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez.

Chalobah is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury that he has aggravated and could now sideline him for another month.
