‘Chelsea worried about Alejandro Garnacho as Man United outcast aims to join’

Alejandro Garnacho is aiming to join Chelsea this summer but the club have concerns about giving the Man United winger the move he wants.

The Argentine winger looks set to leave the Red Devils this summer in acrimonious circumstances, as Ruben Amorim told Garnacho to find another club in front of several of his teammates.

According to MailOnline, the Portuguese manager told the young winger, “you better pray that you can find a club to sign you”, after the 20-year-old angered his boss with his comments after United’s 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

Garnacho then caused further controversy with his behaviour during the club’s post-season tour of Asia, giving the middle finger to a bemused set of fans.

United’s well-documented financial issues have led to speculation that the Argentine winger and Kobbie Mainoo may be sold to generate pure profit for the club.

But according to The Guardian, Garnacho may miss out on making the move to his preferred destination of Chelsea this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho wants Chelsea move but recent behaviour a concern

According to The Guardian, whilst Chelsea did have an interest in Garnacho in January, there were concerns about his attitude.

The Sun had reported that the 20-year-old informed his agent to “make clear to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca he wants to remain in the Prem”.

But a source revealed that whilst Garnacho has had some good moments with his current club and wants to establish himself as a “world star”, “there is a feeling that while he’s a good player, he’s not quite as good as he thinks he is.”

The winger angered some of his team-mates by describing the season with an expletive after the Europa League final loss.

Alejandro Garnacho a talent worth taking a chance on

Football Insider Verdict

Garnacho may be hurting his chances of joining a top club this summer, but there is no doubting the young winger’s talent.

The United man sits behind only Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and PSG’s Desire Doue for Under-21 goal involvements this season.

In all competitions, Garnacho has managed 11 goals and 10 assists, an impressive figure when you consider his main target upfront has been the wildly ineffective Rasmus Hojlund.

The 20-year-old has also never downed tools on the pitch, in spite of his manager’s best attempts to apparently get the worst out of him.

Whichever club takes a chance on Garnacho this summer and saves him from the toxicity that seems to hang like a heavy cloud over United will have one of the best talents in world football next season.
