Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo reacts to announcement on Fulham star Raul Jimenez

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo reacted to a post on social media regarding Fulham striker Raul Jimenez.

The Mexican striker was the Cottagers’ first-choice striker last season, scoring 12 goals in 38 games for Marco Silva‘s side.

However, the number nine shirt at Craven Cottage now looks up for grabs next season.

Despite being the club’s leading goal-scorer in the 2024/25 season, the Cottagers are looking at Jimenez replacements in the transfer market, and former Everton chief Keith Wyness told Football Insider Fulham are leading the race to sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Whites rejected a £32million bid from Leeds for Rodrigo Muniz, and also made an offer for Goztepe striker Romulo [The Athletic], although that bid was turned down by the Turkish side.

Whilst Jimenez proved himself to be reliable in front of goal last season, the former Wolves man is 34 years old and Silva’s side are keen to find a long-term replacement.

Raul Jimenez announced as POTM after Gold Cup triumph

But despite Fulham looking for a new striker this summer, Jimenez is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.

The Mexican striker remains a key figure for his nation and scored the opener as Mexico won the Gold Cup with a 2-1 victory against rivals the USA.

Following the win, the Gold Cup crowned Jimenez as the Player of the Match for the final and shared a post on Instagram announcing the award, captioned: “No hace falta decir mas.”, which translates to: “No more needs to be said.”

Fulham’s forward has been in fantastic form during the tournament, scoring three goals, and the post was liked by former Cottager and current Chelsea defender Adarabioyo.

Fulham yet to build on squad despite losing key figures

Football Insider Verdict

Few teams move as slowly as the West London side in the transfer market, and this summer is no different.

Fulham missed out on European football last season, despite registering their highest-ever points total in the Premier League.

But despite a strong showing last term, the club are currently in a worse position regarding their playing staff.

Willian has left after an uninspiring second stint with Fulham, and captain Tom Cairney is now officially a free agent, although the Scottish midfielder has been offered a new contract.

Whilst the aforementioned duo are no longer capable of having a significant impact on the pitch, both were highly respected members of the dressing room.

Unless replacements are made quickly this summer, Fulham risk missing out on key targets, and the dream of European football will remain out of reach once again next season.
