Chinese flop is not even worst of bunch in five worst Celtic signings of the last 20 years
3. THOMAS GRAVESEN
Signed from: Real Madrid – Fee (approx): £2.2million – Appearances: 29
A player who was signed with plenty of hype, but just didn’t live up to expectation. Gravesen had been superb at Everton, but arrived at the Hoops after a bad spell at Real Madrid.
After a fairly decent start with the Hoops which included two goals against Rangers, his form deteriorated so badly that he was sent back to Everton on loan at the end of the season.
The Hoops ended up paying off Gravesen in 2008 to get him off the books, and he never played football again, becoming a millionaire in Las Vegas instead.
