Chris Sutton aims dig at Caixinha after Rangers draw v Kilmarnock
By Danny Wright
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has suggested that every Scottish football fan wants Pedro Caixinha to remain at Ibrox except for the Rangers fans following Wednesday night’s draw with Kilmarnock.
The Light Blues looked good for three points but a stunning turn of events in stoppage time which saw Ryan Jack sent off and Daniel Candeias miss a penalty before Chris Burke scored at the other end of the pitch to earn Steve Clarke a late point in his first game in charge of Killie.
Pressure has been mounting on Caixinha after Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup semi-final which saw them miss a chance of an Old Firm final clash with Celtic next month.
That has added to several high-profile poor results for Caixinha after a 5-1 home loss to their bitter Glasgow rivals, a failure to win three games in a row and the humiliating Europa League knock out to Luxembourg minnows Progres in the summer.
Now, ex-Celtic striker Sutton aimed a dig at the Portuguese manager by suggesting that if there was a poll about whether he should stay at Ibrox, it would only be the Gers fans who would want him out.
“At the stage with Pedro where if you had a poll on whether Pedro should stay, the whole of Scottish footy, bar some Rangers fans, will vote yes,” he said on his personal Twitter account.
