Chris Sutton predicts Rangers clash v Celtic

Chris Sutton has predicted that Celtic will easily defeat Rangers in Saturday’s Old Firm derby at Parkhead.

The BT Sport pundit made the claim in his usual combative style after watching the Hoops defeat Dundee 2-0, in a clip picked up by a Celtic fan account on Twitter.

“I think Celtic are in a different league, I think it will be a humping”, he said on BT Sport on Tuesday.

The Hoops will go into the game at least eight points ahead of their bitter rivals, after goals from James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths secured the 2-0 victory over Dundee, in a game that was overshadowed by an ankle injury suffered by Jonny Hayes.

The Gers face Motherwell at Ibrox on Wednesday night, and are currently 11 points behind the league leaders and three points behind second placed Aberdeen.

The first Old Firm derby of the season was played in September, as Celtic cruised to a 2-0 victory at Ibrox thanks to goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths.

The last game at Celtic Park between the teams was a controversial 1-1 draw in March, Clint Hill cancelling out Stuart Armstrong’s opener before referee Bobby Madden refused to award a late penalty for what seemed to be a foul on Leigh Griffiths by Hill.

The game is the last before the winter break so both teams will be determined to finish the first-half of the season on a high.
