Chris Sutton destroys Rangers hierarchy on Twitter after King interview

By Harvey Byrne

Chris Sutton has launched another rant at Rangers and this time it is at the board following Dave King’s interview with TalkSPORT on Monday.

The Ibrox chairman told the radio station that the club may have to consider appointing someone on an interim basis due to time constraints.

However, this has not been received well by former Celtic striker Sutton, who has suggested that the club have no plan going forward and that they are making life too easy for the Hoops.

Additionally, he feels that current bookies favourite Alex McLeish deserves more than being a “stop gap” appointment until the end of the season.

“Well it’s turning into a comedy club isn’t it,” started Sutton in a video on his personal Twitter account.

“Mark Warburton gone, Dave King launching all sorts of grenades at Mark Warburton knowing that Mark Warburton isn’t going to respond because of legal reasons.

“But, if Dave King felt so strongly about Mark Warburton going then why didn’t he sack him earlier? I just don’t get it. He’s seen an opportunity and he’s taken it. Make no mistake, Mark Warburton would still be at Rangers today had his agent not made a complete mess of this whole situation.

“Going forward, where is the plan for Rangers? Surely Alex McLeish deserves a little bit more respect then just a stop gap part time until the end of the season.

“There is no plan, director of football, is there going to be a permanent manager? I thought that’s what businessmen were supposed to do and plan for the future.

“It’s been an absolute shambles and Rangers are handing Celtic a 10 in a row on a plate.”

Warburton lost his job on Friday evening at the club after a poor run of form which has left the Ibrox giants in third place and 27 points behind fierce rivals Celtic.

Sutton has often been critical of the job the former Brentford boss did with Rangers and there can certainly be no claims that the ex-Premier League striker has sat on the fence.

Additionally, the whole situation regarding Warburton and the club has caused a lot of humour between those associated with Celtic and Rangers fans may now be hoping their club stays quiet until something concrete can be announced.

In other Rangers news, here are three players who could follow McLeish to the club in the summer.
