Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha react to Marc Guehi’s Crystal Palace message
Marc Guehi caught the attention of past and present Crystal Palace stars after claiming all three points from a 2-0 win over Tottenham.
Eberechi Eze scored on either side of half-time to seal the Eagles’ 12th victory of the Premier League season, seeing them keep their 12th spot in the table with two matches remaining.
Guehi, who was the subject of a Tottenham bid during the winter transfer window, made the most of his audition in front of Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy with an established display at the back.
With Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Dominic Solanke, and Guglielmo Vicario all on the bench, it was clear that Spurs had the Europa League final in mind, but it was a great win for Palace, nonetheless.

Taking to Instagram (11 May), Guehi wrote: “Eagles!! Support today was top,” with Jean-Philippe Mateta responding: “CAPITAINE!!!” while Chris Richards wrote: “oh this coldddd”.
As well as gaining the support of his teammates, former teammates Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha both liked the post after a brilliant display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Oliver Glasner could bring defensive star with him through Crystal Palace exit doors
Football Insider verdict
Winning eight of the last 16 league matches, it has been a successful few weeks for the Eagles, which has seen them on the brink of a top-half table finish in the 2024/25 campaign.
This form has seen Oliver Glasner linked with a Crystal Palace exit, with Mick Brown telling Football Insider that the manager could walk away amid speculation around the Tottenham job.
Manager | Games | Won | Drawn | Lost | Win % |
Oliver Glasner | 59 | 27 | 17 | 15 | 45.8 |
The Austrian is now being heavily linked with a move to RB Leipzig, but should he move across to North London instead, many supporters might be worried about the prospect of Guehi following him.
With European qualification likely just out of reach for the Eagles this season, that could multiple high-profile exits at Selhurst Park this summer, which will only act as a reset button ahead of next term.
If Steve Parish and fellow owners can keep Glasner and the majority of the squad together this summer, there is no reason why the club cannot kick on and move up the table, but that is not a certainty.
