Christian Eriksen expected to return to Tottenham after what ‘my friend’ told me – manager
Alex McLeish has backed Christian Eriksen to quit Brentford and re-sign for Tottenham this summer.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 30-year-old may regret not rejoining the north Londoners if he has the chance.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday (23 May), Tottenham have registered their interest in signing Eriksen when his Brentford contract expires this summer.

A recruitment source told this site the playmaker features high on Spurs’ wanted list, with other clubs also in the hunt.
McLeish admitted while Eriksen looks in a “fantastic” place at Brentford, the chance to return to Tottenham could be a “sliding doors moment”.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I do believe that you want to grab every chance that you have in this world and in this life.
“It’s probably one of these sliding doors moments where, if you don’t, then you wonder if you’ll regret something.
“Then again, he looks as if he’s in a place of fantastic mentality and happiness at Brentford.
“But he can do that anywhere. A friend of mine lived near him when he was at Tottenham last time and said he was an exceptional guy. He just looks a class act when you see him.
“It’s such a good comeback. We wish him the best whatever he does but I could see him coming back.”

The Denmark international signed a short-term deal with the Bees in January after leaving Inter Milan following a cardiac arrest.
He played 11 times during the 2021/22 campaign, with one goal and four assists under his belt.
