Christian Eriksen: Tottenham ‘watching very keenly’ ahead of possible summer bid – Insider
Tottenham will be watching Christian Eriksen “very keenly” following his move to Brentford.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Brentford confirmed the signing of Eriksen, 29, on Monday (31 January).
He joins the club on a deal until the summer and will play competitive football for the first time since his cardiac event at Euro 2020.
Wenham insists Eriksen will be a summer transfer target for Spurs if he impresses at the Brentford Community Stadium.
“I noticed Eriksen has only signed a six-month contract,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’m sure Tottenham are watching this very, very keenly.
“If he gets anywhere near the levels of performance he used to produce for us, I would not be surprised if Tottenham start looking at signing him.
“If he can prove, physically, that he can perform in the Premier League and he is comfortable to do that, then I think that’s one Tottenham will look at doing in the longer-term.
“I would love him back and I think most Tottenham fans will also want him back.
“As I always say, we have never replaced him. He was an absolute maestro for us and he was playing well before the Euros.
“It’s definitely one to keep an eye on, for me.”

Eriksen made 309 appearances for Spurs between 2013 and 2020.
He scored 69 goals for the club.
