Christopher Jullien tipped for new role at Celtic after journalist’s update – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Christopher Jullien could reclaim a place in the starting 11 at Celtic next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Rangers defender said Jullien, 29, needs to focus on the team he’s at after his potential exit fell through.
According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph via GiveMeSport (24 July) clubs in France and Germany are still interested in the defender.
Jullien has a year left on his contract with the Scottish champions.
The Frenchman struggled to find a permanent place in Ange Postecoglou’s side after he was side-lined for over a year with a knee injury.
The defender has been given game time in Celtic’s pre-season friendlies.
When asked if he thought that could be a sign Jullien will be staying at Parkhead next season, Hutton told Football Insider: “Obviously his move fell through because of medical issues I’m led to believe.
“So the only thing he can do as a player is focus on the team that he’s at.

“I thought he was an excellent player when he was fully fit and playing. He looked strong, he was physical, a rock at the back. He’s fallen down the pecking order but I still believe he’s got enough to force his way back through.
“Obviously they’ve strengthened at centre-half over this transfer window so it’s going to be difficult but if a move falls through the only thing you can do as a player is concentrate on where you’re at and be fully focused on that.“
