Christopher Nkunku reacts to Malo Gusto’s ‘end’ message amid Chelsea exit talk

Christopher Nkunku has reacted to a message shared by Malo Gusto amid the news that the forward could leave Chelsea.

The former Leipzig man scored 14 goals and created five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season, and was particularly important to Chelsea’s Conference League success.

But after helping the Blues win silverware, Nkunku has attracted interest from Newcastle United, who are intent on strengthening their ranks ahead of next term’s Champions League campaign.

Meanwhile, Gusto helped France finish third in this year’s UEFA Nations League tournament via a 2-0 win over Germany on Sunday, 8 June.

Liam Delap’s arrival could spell Nkunku’s Chelsea exit, while the former Ipswich Town man will look to hit the ground running for Enzo Maresca’s men in the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, after helping France beat Germany, Gusto took to Instagram [8 June], as he wrote: “We end on a good note.”

The message attracted a like from Nkunku, who has not played for France since their 3-1 victory over Italy in November.

Joao Felix could join Nkunku in Chelsea exit

After claiming Conference League glory via a 4-2 triumph over Real Betis last month, Chelsea are eager to win more silverware, including the Club World Cup under Maresca’s stewardship.

Felix and Nkunku could leave Chelsea this summer

The addition of Delap shows that the Blues are keen to act quickly in the transfer market this summer, but the West London club will also have to sanction the exits of some of their current squad.

With that in mind, Chelsea could allow Joao Felix to leave alongside Nkunku, while the Portugal international endured a disappointing loan spell with AC Milan, scoring just three goals in 21 Serie A appearances.

Partly thanks to the misfiring 25-year-old, Milan finished just eighth in the Italian top flight, which hasn’t inspired Maresca to keep the forward in West London beyond this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have eyed a move for Jamie Gittens, who has proven his attacking credentials throughout his time with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
