Christopher Nkunku sends Chelsea message after fans slaughter him

Chelsea picked up a much-needed Premier League victory on Tuesday (25 February) as they bolstered their hopes for Champions League football.

After three-match run without a win the Blues got back on track with a 4-0 victory against Southampton at Stamford Bridge in what was a dominant display.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella wrapped up the result in style, all while keeping an all-important clean sheet.

The Blues headed into the game having won just three times in their previous 12 outings which had seen pressure rise on Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea had slipped down to seventh in the Premier League table, but after results went their way in midweek they now sit in fourth.

Maresca’s men now have a weekend off before facing Copenhagen on Thursday (6 March) in the Europa Conference League.

Christopher Nkunku’s future may lie beyond Stamford Bridge

The versatile forward has had a difficult time adjusting to life at Stamford Bridge due to injuries and a lack of game time, which has led to question marks over his long-term future.

Nkunku is under contract at Chelsea until 2027, but he was linked with a move away during the January transfer window.

Industry insider Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Man United were keen to sign Nkunku, and while he didn’t end up leaving there could be more scope for a transfer to happen in the summer window.
