Cirkin and Rigg react to Sunderland teammate’s ‘pending’ message amid transfer talk
Dennis Cirkin and Chris Rigg have both reacted to a new message from a Sunderland teammate ahead of the coming campaign.
Both players impressed for Regis Le Bris‘ side last season, which has now seen them attract attention in the transfer market.
Earlier this season, Football Insider reported that Everton are leading the likes of Man United in the race to sign Rigg this summer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have been credited with an interest in re-signing Cirkin, who left Spurs to join the Black Cats back in 2021.

Jenson Seelt looks ahead to 2025/26 season
Both of those players will have a tough decision to make if they are to leave the Stadium of Light this summer.
Last season of course ended with Sunderland winning promotion back to the Premier League following victory over Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final.
One player who is clearly relishing the Black Cats’ return to the top-flight is Jenson Seelt, who has been beset by injury issues since joining the club in 2023.
He will be keen to put those problems behind him to get his chance in the top-flight, and taking to Instagram to look ahead to that, the defender posted a series of images from the summer break.
That was then accompanied by a motivated caption from the Sunderland man that simply read: “Big season pending”.
In response, both Rigg and Cirkin were amoing those to give their backing to Seelt by liking that post from the 22-year-old.
Other Sunderland players such as Wilson Isidor, Leo Hjelde, Romaine Mundle, Dan Ballard, Trai Hume and Eliezer Mayenda also did the same.
Sunderland will want to keep their squad together
Football Insider Verdict
The Black Cats have already lost two key men this summer, with Jobe Bellingham completing a move to Borussia Dortmund and Tommy Watson moving to Brighton.
It is going to be a big ask for them to avoid relegation next season, something the last six newly promoted teams have all failed to do.
As well as strengthening in the window, Sunderland are also going to have to keep some continuity and stability to their side, be retaining the services of key players.
That will help to keep some of the momentum they may have built during the play-off campaign, while also helping new additions to integrate quickly.
With that in mind, Sunderland will surely be ready to deal with any interest in Rigg and Cirkin that may well come in over the course of the window.
