Clement Lenglet and Tottenham star expected to be axed for Man City clash – Robinson

Paul Robinson expects Tottenham manager Antonio Conte to make two changes for the trip to Man City on Saturday (10 September).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma are likely to come in for the clash at the Etihad.

Spurs travel to City on Saturday off the back of a 2-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League.

As quoted by the Evening Standard (7 September), Conte is “worried” about his team’s recovery given the lack of time between the two games.

Pep Guardiola’s side will have had one more day to recover for the Premier League fixture having travelled to Sevilla on Tuesday (6 September).

When asked by Football Insider if the lack of time between games would lead to numerous changes to the Spurs starting XI, Robinson said: “[Hugo] Lloris obviously plays.

“[Cristian] Romero plays alongside [Eric] Dier if he is fit enough. The question is, whether Conte goes with [Ben] Davies or [Clement] Lenglet. I think he will go with Davies given the fact Lenglet played against Marseille. [Ivan] Perisic and Emerson [Royal] will be the wing-backs.

“I can see him playing Bissouma and Bentancur in the middle of the park with Son [Heung-min], [Harry] Kane and Richarlison, who has to play.

“If players are struggling for fitness there might be more changes but I think that is pretty much that team he will put out.”
