Club owner drops huge hint about talks for goal machine on Leeds reported radar

Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony has dropped a huge hint that Leeds United may have held talks with him over a move to sign striker Jack Marriott this month.
When quizzed by a Leeds fan over whether his team had made any effort to sign Marriott, MacAnthony confirmed that he had held a phone conversation with a ‘Championship club up north’, suggesting that the Whites could be the team.
News outlet ClubCall has reported that Leeds are interested in Marriott and his attacking partner Marcus Maddison after sending a scout to watch the Posh win 3-1 against Bradford on Boxing Day.
Aston Villa and Sunderland were also said to be keeping tabs on Marriott, which means that the Black Cats could also be the club that MacAnthony has hinted about.
“Yes buddy I can confirm that phone conversations took place this week with Champ club up north,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday when asked by a Leeds fan about Marriott.

Marriott has been in hot form for Peterborough this season in League One.
The former Luton and Woking forward has scored 23 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, including two against Aston Villa last week as his side progressed in the FA Cup.
The 23-year-old goal machine, who has also had spells at Ipswich and Colchester, could well be the ideal solution for Leeds’ lack of goals up front.
