Cole Palmer sparks new concern at Chelsea after worrying footage
Chelsea fear that Cole Palmer’s groin injury is worse than originally thought, sources have told Football Insider.
Palmer limped off in the first half of Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on 20 September, and hasn’t featured for Enzo Maresca’s side since.
The Blues coped well without their talisman against Liverpool, with Estevao Willian’s last-minute winner, securing a 2-1 win for the West London outfit.
Maresca has previously suggested Palmer might return immediately after the upcoming international break, but the situation has now escalated.

Cole Palmer could be set for extended spell out
Now, sources say fears are growing that Palmer won’t have recovered in time for Chelsea’s next match against Nottingham Forest on 18 October.
Immediately after the international break, the Blues have a busy run of seven games in 21 days, across the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup.
It is a crucial point in the season for Maresca’s side, as they look to improve their league position as well as progress in cup competitions.
Chelsea currently sit seventh in the Premier League, five points off table-topping Arsenal, and will be eager to get Palmer back in the side as soon as possible to help their top four ambitions.
Palmer concern increases after worrying footage emerges
Chelsea’s late winner over Liverpool sparked jubilant scenes at Stamford Bridge, with Maresca charging down the touchline to celebrate with his players.
However, worrying footage from after the full-time whistle showed Palmer wincing in pain and clutching at his groin after being jumped on by defender Jorell Hato.
The England international had taken to the pitch in a large coat to congratulate his teammates on the win, with Hato leaping towards him in delight.
However, after the pair collided, Palmer looked to be in real discomfort, which has left Blues fans fearing the worst regarding his recent injury.
