‘Cole Palmer to be axed’ – Chelsea fans are unanimous after what happened vs Arsenal

Chelsea fans believe Cole Palmer should take a break from the team to focus on recovering from his injury problems.

Palmer has suffered from injuries this season, and the 23-year-old looked to be playing through the pain barrier in defeat against Arsenal.

Chelsea lost 2-1 at Emirates Stadium despite drawing level before the break courtesy of an own goal from Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie.

The Blues miss the chance to regain their place in the top five of the Premier League table, with Liam Rosenior’s side now three points below Liverpool.

Cole Palmer ‘not helping the team’ with injury worries

With Palmer now a doubt for Chelsea’s next game against Aston Villa, and with Pedro Neto suspended following his red card against Arsenal, Rosenior will be short of attacking options.

Rosenior was already without Estevao and Jamie Gittens for the trip to Emirates Stadium, with Alejandro Garnacho currently the only available wide player available for selection.

Palmer had little influence against Arsenal, with zero successful dribbles completed, no aerial duels won, and only two of nine ground duels won.

The forward was substituted off with Chelsea needing an equaliser against the Gunners, with one fan saying that he “needs to have surgery.”

One supporter said Palmer has been “horrendous” and “needs to be given a break” to recover from his injury.

Nicolas Jackson interest emerges ahead of summer window

Rosenior will have a decision to make on striker Nicolas Jackson when he returns from his loan spell at Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Jackson, playing as second choice behind Harry Kane, is unlikely to stay at the Bundesliga champions on a permanent basis, where he has scored five goals in 22 appearances this campaign.

Aston Villa could renew their interest in Jackson, whom Unai Emery wanted to sign last summer before the 24-year-old reached an agreement to join Bayern Munich.

Emery could be faced with the loss of Ollie Watkins in the summer, and he could have to replace the England international, with Tammy Abraham his only alternative up-front.

Jackson’s contract at Chelsea does not run out until 2033 after he signed a nine-year deal with the London club in 2024.
