Confirmed Aston Villa line-up v Barnsley: Grealish starts in three changes

By Dominic Toner

Aston Villa have made three changes to their starting XI for the home match against Barnsley in the Championship.

The Midlands giants host Barnsley on Tuesday night and will be looking to respond to going seven league games without a win.

They have not won in the Championship since beating Burton on Boxing Day and have lost five of the last seven league matches.

Steve Bruce has decided to make three alterations from the team that were beaten 1-0 by Ipswich on Saturday.

Jack Grealish has returned to suspension and is joined by Jordan Amavi, plus Albert Adomah in the side, meaning Birkir Bjarnason, Neil Taylor and Tommy Elphick drop out.

Villa have announced their starting line-up on their official Twitter account.

Villa are currently languishing in 16th in the league table and any small hopes of a late push towards the play-off places appear to have disappeared.

Instead, the club are only seven points above the drop zone and will be more concerned they are not dragged into a relegation battle.

Bruce made sure there was a big overhaul of players at Villa Park in January, but his new players are yet to find their feet in the side.
