Confirmed: Bids tabled for title chasers' midfield maestro reportedly hunted by Newcastle

Turkish side Galatasaray have confirmed that they have received a number of bids for midfield maestro Badou Ndiaye who is a reported target for Newcastle United.
The Super Lig title chasers, who currently sit in second place in Turkey’s top flight, revealed via an official statement on their website that the 27-year-old Senegal international was the subject of offers from overseas clubs, and that he has been removed from the playing squad for Saturday’s clash against his former side Osmanlispor as a result.
The Daily Mail claimed on their live transfer (16/01, 14:08) earlier this month that Newcastle were in the hunt for the central midfielder, who has made 17 appearances for the Turkish title chasers this season, alongside Stoke City with an £18million release clause in his contract.
Football Insider verdict
If Newcastle are one of the clubs to have submitted a move for Ndiaye, then it will make for a very interesting end to the transfer window. They are not exactly lacking in central midfielder and so there would be every chance of at least one departure prior to Wednesday’s deadline. On the other hand, if the Magpies are not among those with an offer on the table, then this is their time to pounce or risk missing out forever. The fact he is missing from the squad suggests these offers are the real deal and that a move before Wednesday seems likely. Will it be to Tyneside? Only time will tell, but there seems to be more pressing matters on the mind of the north east club, and for good reason.
