Confirmed Leeds line-up v Aston Villa: Five changes as key defender returns
By Harvey Byrne
Leeds have made five changes to the side which lost 2-0 against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
Manager Garry Monk has decided to bring Rob Green, Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips, Chris Wood and key defender Pontus Jansson into the starting line-up.
The changes has seen Marco Silvestri, Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper, Eunan O’kane and Stuart Dallas drop out of the starting eleven.
Leeds revealed the team news on their official Twitter account ahead of the Saturday evening Championship clash against Aston Villa at Elland Road.
The Yorkshire giants are currently performing admirably in England’s second tier in ninth place.
By contrast, Aston Villa are in 12th following a disappointing start to their league season.
Four points and three places separate the two teams in the division and a win for Leeds could see them rise as high as fourth place.
Leeds have won two of their last four matches in all competitions, which has also brought losses against heavy hitters Liverpool and Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Villa are unbeaten under manager Steve Bruce, winning four and drawing three of the seven matches he has taken charge of.
The game will be shown live on Sky Sports in a 5.30pm kick off.
