Confirmed: Massive blow as senior duo are fresh injury doubts ahead of Tottenham v Watford

By Amir Mir

Heurelho Gomes and Étienne Capoue are fresh injury doubts for Watford ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets will take on Mauricio Pochettino’s title chasers at White Hart Lane but there could be several players missing from their squad.

As confirmed by the club’s official website, the senior duo of Gomes and Capoue are doubts after playing the full 90 minutes of their 2-0 win over West Brom in midweek.

Their absence would be a massive blow for manager Walter Mazzarri, who will be looking to end an inconsistent season on a high.

Troy Deeney, Tom Cleverley and Abdoulaye Doucouré will also be assessed as the away side have the opportunity to cause an upset on the road.

Spurs are hoping to clinch an unlikely Premier League crown as they are currently seven points behind leaders Chelsea in the table.

Pochettino saw his team secure a dramatic three points against relegation-threatened Swansea on Wednesday despite his side being 1-0 down after 88 minutes.

Watford will find it difficult to overcome a confident and in-form Spurs team who are yet to be beaten at White Hart Lane this term.

They have picked up three points against the likes of Manchester City, West Ham Chelsea and Southampton as they will be looking to do the double over Watford.

During the reverse fixture in January, the north London club recorded a comfortable 4-1 win against Mazzarri’s side.
