Confirmed: Nottingham Forest set to announce two new signings within 48 hours

Mark Warburton has confirmed that Nottingham Forest are set to announce the signings of two new players within the next 48 hours.

The 54-year-old has made it clear that one deal should be completed by Thursday, with another set to follow by Friday.

The Reds boss has suggested that one of the incoming players will be a midfielder while he is also still on the lookout for a new attacking threat to supply his existing summer buys Daryl Murphy and Jason Cummings.

“We will have one more player coming in, still, in midfield. We want another talented, forward thinking midfield type, to go along with what we have got already,” said Warburton, as quoted by the Nottingham Post.

“Now we have quality in every position. We still want to add. We are in a position to announce one player in the next 24 hours and in a position to announce another over the next 48 hours.

“We are getting there.”

The Nottingham Post has reported that Andreas Bouchalakis has already agreed a season-long loan deal at the City Ground from Greek giants Olympiakos in a deal which could have seen new owner Evangelos Marinakis use his links to the two clubs.

Burnley defender Tendayi Darikwa, who can also play on the wing, is also said to be joining Forest in a £1million deal sooner rather than later.

The report adds that Burton’s Jackson Irvine and Aston Villa’s Gary Garner are also on Warburton’s radar as he looks to make considerable additions to his squad ahead of the start of the 2017/18 Championship season.

Murphy became the latest addition to the Reds squad last week when he signed from Newcastle, and has joined Cummings and Barrie McKay in being the confirmed summer arrivals.

In other Nottingham Forest news, McKay has shared what was unacceptable about his spell at Rangers before he joined the Reds.
