28-year-old axed: Confirmed Rangers line-up v Morton
By Danny Wright
Rangers have made two changes to their team for their Scottish Cup fifth round tie with Greenock Morton at Ibrox.
It will be the first game the Gers play since Mark Warburton left the club on Friday.
Caretaker manager Graeme Murty will be taking charge of the team for the first time and has dropped Jon Toral (22) and Joe Garner (28), with Andy Halliday and Martyn Waghorn stepping up.
With league hopes well and truly shattered a long time ago, Rangers’ only hope of silverware lies with the Scottish Cup and they will be hoping to make their way to the quarter-finals where the likes of Celtic, Aberdeen and Partick are waiting.
Gers have Kenny Miller to thank for still being in the competition as his late brace against Motherwell in the last round earned his side a 2-1 victory.
Motherwell are the only side the Light Blues have managed to beat in their last six games in all competitions, winning back-to-back fixtures against McGhee’s side at the end of January.
