Monk announced that he would quite the Yorkshire giants in May and has since took up the vacancy at Middlesbrough, while Clotet has been joined by Craig Beattie and Darryl Flahavan heading towards the exit.
The Spaniard will manage his first league game in England when Oxford travel to Oldham on August 5.
