Connor Goldson cited as Rangers star agrees new contract – ‘he’s been caught out’, says expert
Alan Hutton has claimed it has been “sink or swim” for Leon King at Rangers this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender insisted King will improve once he starts playing alongside Connor Goldson.
On Tuesday (13 December), sources told this site that the Light Blues have agreed a new contract with the 18-year-old after multiple offers from Premier League clubs.

The Ibrox club have reached a full agreement with the centre-back who will pen a deal running until 2026.
The defender had started the last six games for the Bears, filling in for the injured Goldson.
As reported by the Scottish Daily Express (11 December), Michael Beale confirmed Goldson would be returning to training in the coming days and could be involved in the game against Hibernian on Thursday (15 December).
When asked what King’s role will be once the Ibrox stalwart returns to the side, Hutton told Football Insider: “It is really down to him [King] and how he performs.
“Can he keep a high standard consistently? I think he will be better with someone like Goldson alongside him.
“I think it has been difficult for him because he has been thrown into the spotlight through a lot of injuries. Playing alongside an experienced centre-back will definitely help him.
“He has been caught out once or twice but that happens when you are young. He has been put into a high pressure environment and it is sink or swim. I think he has done well.

“Hopefully Goldson can come back and steer him through the difficult situations because I think there is a good player in there. A lot has been put on his shoulders early on which is a little bit unfair but needs must.
“Hopefully he can go from strength to strength alongside an experienced centre-back.“
