Conte ‘desperate’ to sell Ndombele after Tottenham training ground reveal – pundit

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will be “desperate” to sell Tanguy Ndombele this month, according to Noel Whelan.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 25-year-old’s negative influence will be “like a disease” in the Spurs dressing room.

As per football.london (14 January), Ndombele is training alone at Tottenham’s training base after his show of petulance following his FA Cup substitution last week.

The France international has made just two appearances since the appointment of Conte in November.

Whelan claimed the Italian will be looking to “get rid” of the midfielder this month in order to restore “tranquillity” at Spurs.

“Conte will be desperate to get rid of him,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“It’s like a disease when you have that sort of character and influence in your dressing room.

“Get him out of the club as soon as possible, that will be a massive plus for Conte. And he’s not the only manager to have had problems with him, this has been consistent.

“His performances haven’t been that great either – he’s by no means a must keep player for Tottenham Hotspur.

“I’m sure Conte would take a player with less talent but a far better attitude all day long.

“He’s got to go ASAP to try and get some tranquillity back into that training ground, it can’t be helping things.”

Tottenham signed Ndombele from Lyon for a reported club-record fee of £55million in 2019.

As per Sky Sports (11 January), Spurs have held talks with Spanish and Italian clubs regarding a move for the midfielder – who is apparently interested in a January exit.
