Coventry’s Brandon Thomas-Asante reacts as Birmingham deal agreed
Birmingham City have completed the signing of Brighton winger Ibrahim Osman on loan until the end of the season.
It has been a busy window at St Andrew’s so far, with Birmingham also signing Jhon Solis and several others.
Transfer chiefs are keen to provide Chris Davies with reinforcements, ahead of a hopeful push towards the play-off spots in the second half of the Championship season.
Birmingham emerged as the favourites to sign August Priske last week, and that move has now been completed.
The 21-year-old was the Allsvenskan’s top scorer last season, and is seen as a big coup for the Championship club.
Brandon Thomas-Asante reacts to Ibrahim Osman news
Just weeks ago, Davies was under huge pressure at Birmingham after leading his side to seven consecutive Championship games without victory.
But it has been a positive start to the year for the Blues, who have beaten Coventry City and Cambridge United.
Saturday saw Birmingham draw 1-1 with Swansea, but decision-makers will hope that the new arrivals can lead to an upturn in form.

Osman is among them, after the club announced his arrival on loan from Brighton on Monday.
The 21-year-old was signed by the Seagulls from Danish club Nordsjaelland in a deal reportedly worth £16million in 2024.
The winger had starred in Denmark, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions, and he has shown signs of returning to those levels in subsequent loans to the Eredivisie and Ligue 1.
Birmingham will hope he can do exactly that in the Championship. They shared a picture of Osman to Instagram on Monday, with the caption: “Pacey. Athletic. Direct. Our new number 17.”
Coventry striker Brandon Thomas-Asante liked the post, with the two having featured for Ghana.
Thomas-Asante makes injury return
Thomas-Asante has enjoyed a strong season for Coventry, with his absence through injury marking the worst period of the season so far for Frank Lampard‘s side.
In just 18 appearances, the Ghana international has scored 10 goals and provided three assists, including a run that saw him net six in four games in October.
But when the 27-year-old was ruled out with a hamstring tear, Coventry managed to win just three of their next nine league games.
Thomas-Asante has now returned, and with him, so did three points against Leicester City on Saturday.
