Cristiano Ronaldo and Man United teammate creating ‘poisonous’ dressing room atmosphere as new details emerge – Agbonlahor

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are creating a “poisonous” atmosphere in the Man United dressing room, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed the pair are “hammering their teammates” in Portuegese at the training ground.

The Athletic reported on Monday (15 August) that Ronaldo often eats lunch alone in the club’s canteen and has been arguing against Erik ten Hag’s high-pressing approach in training.

The new United boss initially wanted to keep the 37-year-old despite his desire to leave but he is now open to letting him go.

There have been no formal offers for one of the world’s best as his performances for Man United leave a lot to be desired.

“I feel he could be a bad egg in the changing room,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“There are a lot of young players there who he probably doesn’t speak to. There are reports of him sitting on his own.

“He and Fernandes are probably sat there speaking Portuegese and hammering other players.

“I can picture what it’s like in that changing room, I reckon it’s poisonous there.

“If I’m Man United, I’m thinking ‘Whenever we lose, it’s Ronaldo that we all have to talk about’.

“Get rid of Ronaldo, bring in some younger, fresher talent to the club.”

Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 games across all competitions last season after returning to United.

The Portugal international has a year left on his current contract and the club have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
