Cristiano Ronaldo could seal move to Euro giants after source’s Man United reveal – pundit
Man United striker Cristiano Ronaldo would be open to the idea of returning to Portugal to join FC Porto this summer.
That is the view of former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 37-year-old’s future at Old Trafford.
On Monday (4 July), a recruitment source told this site that Porto have registered their interest in Ronaldo.
Erik ten Hag is said to be willing to let the Portugal international leave the club this summer as long as he can bring in a suitable replacement.
Ronaldo has a year left on his contract at Man United after joining from Juventus last summer.
On Tuesday (5 July) journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Ronaldo didn’t show up for United training due to “family issues”.
When asked if he thought a move to Porto was likely for the forward, Hutton told Football Insider: “I don’t see why he wouldn’t.
“Obviously we know his background and his history with the club so it’s probably something that’s close to him personally.
“I think it’s probably a little bit of a bolt out the blue. I know it’s for personal reasons that he’s not turned up to training. We don’t really know the ins and outs of it so you have to take him for his word and I’m sure everybody will.“

Ronaldo played 38 games for the Red Devils across all competitions last season.
He scored 24 goals and provided three assists.
