Critical update on Celtic ‘talks’ with Wilfried Nancy after ‘collapse’ rumours

Wilfried Nancy could still become the next Celtic manager, as reports have shut down rumours that talks had broken down.

Celtic released a statement confirming Martin O’Neill would stay in charge of the team until a permanent successor to Brendan Rodgers is found.

Rodgers resigned from Celtic last month, with the club chasing Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and having had a difficult transfer window.

Nancy has been a front-runner for the Celtic job, with his season with Columbus Crew finished after defeat in the MLS playoffs.

Wilfried Nancy to raid MLS

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Nancy could bring stars from the MLS to Celtic to bolster the Hoops’ squad in the January transfer window, if he is appointed manager.

Celtic could lose the likes of Daizen Maeda in January, after the winger has previously admitted to wanting to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

The club are currently short of options in the attacking areas due to their lack of activity in the summer window, but also the current injuries in the squad.
