Crystal Palace fans want starter ‘out of my club’ after horror display vs Strasbourg
Oliver Glasner took the brunt of the frustrations after Crystal Palace threw away three points against Strasbourg in the Europa Conference League.
Jefferson Lerman was blasted by Palace fans as the Eagles saw their 1-0 lead wiped out by Emanuel Emegha, before Samir El Mourabet completed the comeback on Thursday, 27 November.
Despite Chris Richards returning to training from a suspected injury, the USA international started on the bench, and his replacement, Jaydee Canvot, was a particular weakness that Strasbourg exposed.
However, it was Palace’s attack that left the travelling fans the most frustrated after several chances were missed to put the game to bed before the Ligue 1 side staged their comeback.
Yeremy Pino ripped to shreds after Crystal Palace defeat
Defeat saw the Eagles drop to 18th in the Europa Conference League table, and had Glasner decided to change his starting lineup around more, that might not have happened.
It was an especially difficult night for Yeremy Pino. Despite creating chances and taking aim at goal, he was left frustrated, and so too were the fans, with one wanting him “out of my club”.
After wasting some clear chances against Strasbourg, one fan was questioning exactly what the winger was “good at”, while another suggested that his inconsistency could stop Palace from success this season.
- @GeorgeHilder5: “I just don’t know what he’s good at.”
- @dailyCpfc_: “Missed 2 open goals, but Pino and Sarr’s inconsistency is what stops us from achieving something big this season, need a better option that Glasner can trust as soon as Jan arrives.”
- @Pr0fM2: “Glasner won’t play Esse or Uche even when Sarr and Pino are this useless. We desperately need cover for that position.”
Steve Parish blamed for Oliver Glasner’s lack of options
As well as criticism for several players, Steve Parish took the brunt of the anger after Glasner failed to make adequate changes to his starting lineup for the European clash.
He had made just three changes from the win over Wolves, one of them being reverted after Adam Wharton replaced Will Hughes early on, and that might have backfired for the Eagles.
And the reason that Parish is being blamed on social media is due to the club’s lack of activity in the summer transfer window, having only signed a handful of players before the window slammed shut.
There is also the potential of losing Jean-Philippe Mateta, Daniel Munoz, and Wharton, as well as Marc Guehi, in the upcoming windows, and there is no telling how fans would react to those losses.
