Crystal Palace may be regretting their decision not to raid relegated Wolves for Hwang Hee-Chan during the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old struggled to make any real lasting impact at Molineux last season, notching four goal contributions during the Old Gold's demise.

And instead of staying and helping Wolves fight for promotion back to the Premier League, he sealed a loan move to Bundesliga side Schalke.

His loan deal includes a €3million (£2.5m) option to buy, but Palace will be hoping that the South Korean is available once next summer comes around.

Hwang already has one assist in his first two games over in Germany, coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Union Berlin last month.

And his form doesn't stop there. His national team are bearing the fruits of his labour, with some hugely impressive stats on Tuesday, 6 October.

Crystal Palace decided against summer deal for Hwang Hee-Chan

South Korea defeated Uzbekistan 2-0 in a mid-season friendly at the Yongin Mireu Stadium, with goals from Son Heung-Min and Oh Se-Hun.

At the age of 30, Hwang is still extremely dangerous, completing 100 per cent of his three dribbles, the most of anyone, and creating one chance [FotMob].

He made three passes into the final third, won three fouls against frustrated opposition, and won 100 per cent of his seven ground duels.

The Wolves loanee caused absolute panic down the left flank, but he's more than capable of featuring anywhere across the front.

Pierre Sage may soon be pushing for the Eagles to reignite a deal, despite Football Insider understanding in August that Hwang was not an option.

What would this mean for Evann Guessand?

While Hwang is nearing the end of his career, he clearly still has a lot of life left, proven by his display against Uzbekistan.

The Eagles may soon be searching for new attackers, though, as Mick Brown told Football Insider that Sage is already "fed up" of Evann Guessand.

Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, his time at Selhurst Park has not been a positive one, with nobody wanting him at Villa Park either.

There are even suggestions that his loan contract could be terminated during the 2026-27 campaign, meaning Hwang would slot straight into the squad.
